The school has achieved a number of awards and recognition of the work we do to provide the best possible education for our pupils.
Modeshift Stars Bronze Award
The school gained this accreditation in April 2017.
Modeshift STARS is the national schools awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel.
The scheme encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people.
We are developing our sustainable travel by introducing 'scooter training' to Year 5s. We have also undertaken '5 minute mapping' so parents and children know where to park their car so they can walk for 5 minutes to school.
We are currently working towards achieving our Silver Modeshift award and hope to apply for this by December this year.
Developing skills in English, Maths and ICT.
Basic Skills Quality Mark
The basic skills Quality Mark is an award that celebrates and supports continuous improvement in literacy and numeracy.
It is awarded to a setting or school to recognise their provision, practice and performance in literacy, ICT and numeracy, and is valid for three years. We were re-assessed in Feb 2017 and gained our third award.
Rotherham Bronze Anti-Bullying Award
In June 2017 we achieved our Bronze Rotherham Anti-Bullying Award. Mrs Gill and Jack (Y6) went to Magna to the award ceremony to collect our certificate!
The work we do in 2017-18 should allow us to maintain this level and obtain our Silver award later in the year.
